Dr. Carla Hayden served as the 14th Librarian of Congress, and while Librarian she was also an ex officio member of the NRPF Board of Directors. Dr. Hayden was sworn in as the Librarian of Congress on September 14, 2016, and was the first woman and the first African American to lead the Library of Congress. Dr. Hayden served as Librarian of Congress until May 2025.
